Daikin smart thermostat adapter: which DropAir fits your system

Daikin invented VRF in 1982 and calls its version VRV. Most Daikin indoor units talk to their wired controller over a two-wire bus called P1/P2, and many splits have an S21 port for Wi-Fi adapters. The DropAir Mini 6S supports both.

How DropAir connects to Daikin

On VRV and ducted indoor units, the adapter connects to the P1/P2 controller bus, the same pair of wires Daikin's own wired remote uses. Because the Mini 6S keeps the original controller in the system, your Daikin remote can stay on the wall and keep showing error codes, while Nest or ecobee becomes the everyday control.

What to send us

The full indoor unit model from the rating label (for example FXSQ, FXDQ or FTXM followed by a capacity number), the model of your current wired controller, and a photo of the controller's wiring.

Daikin questions

Does DropAir work with Daikin VRV?

Yes, through the P1/P2 bus on supported indoor units. We confirm each indoor unit model before quoting.

Can I keep my Daikin wired remote?

With the Mini 6S, yes. It stays in the system and keeps showing status and fault codes.

Will it affect my Daikin warranty?

The adapter connects to the existing control terminals and doesn't modify the unit. Check the terms of your own warranty, and we can send the wiring diagram in advance.
